So uhhh hey......uhh.

I realised I havn't blogged here much this year, 3 at the moment besides this. And thats because this year blew by really fast. Like really fast. Its crazy!

I remember last year, I wrote that I had a feeling 2010 was going to be a great year, and it actually exceeded my expectations. Winter this year was actually pretty damn good too. No dramas for once.

Heres a brief rundown of 2010 so far:

Filming: great experiences have been made through making random videos both for uni assignments and personal purposes. The time, effort, petrol and money used to make these random films/videos have been worth it.

Made a youtube account to put our works up, a lot of room for improvement, but I'm proud of our stuff so far.

Music: had a few gigs earlier the year and they were a lot of fun. Playing music, hanging with mates that support you, having a few drinks, and people applauding and engaging in your band...sounds almost perfect.

Joined a band with mates just recently, we only have one song completed but this coming break should give us the opportunity to make more. We also made a Youtube account for it.

Recently bought a drum kit from a friend, been playing with it more than the bass and guitar combined lately. But still love the bass.

Uni/Graphic design: Uni was well.....uni.

I know I need to push myself more to improve in graphic design, and I'll be honest...I'm pretty happy with what I can do...BUT it's not good enough. Reflecting on myself now, I should've done a lot better with assignments and with the designing done for people. I feel like I havn't really learned anything new so it definitely tells me something about my works this year.

Overall uni has been alright, BUT I HATED INTERACTIVE DESIGN. Never again...

Skateboard: I remember writing somewhere in this blog sometime after Hawaii, that I'd love to surf more, but it never happened :( I probably can't even catch waves anymore. Back to square one if I ever get into it again this summer.

So instead...during Autumn, I pulled out my sisters old skateboard and took it everywhere I went. I skated as a kid before but an accident left me scarred for life...literally. But this year I overcame the fear and now Im in love with it again. Mates recently got into it as well so it makes it a lot more fun.

Basketball: I stopped playing competition 2 years ago because I lost interest..lost the love and my competitiveness. So this area has been pretty much dead this year, only play in the streets occasionally.

But now I miss it, I'll probably join a team next year...watching some of my mates play in comp is pretty nostalgic.

Feel so damn awkward playing though, can barely get anything in. WWMJD?

Thats all I can think of at the moment, and cbf writing anymore. But uhhhhh yeaaaaaah. Deeyumm!

I always hated the rain........

I have a video editing assignment due on Friday and I was supposed to go out and shoot today but the goddamn weather had to be a fucking cunt and curse us with rain. Now I may have to scrap my original plan and go with a new idea. Depending on when my guy is free and.....on the weather. I've already filmed a few footages for my original idea, and a lot of time, energy and money (petrol) was spent on shooting them.

My original idea was making a skate documentary, so I NEED to be outdoors, now I may need to think of something that just involves being indoors. Which is fucked, I really wanted to do this.

Guess this is how much I hate this kind of weather, venting it out on this blog.

2009 went by like a whistle. Yet so many things happened within these quick 12 months.

At the moment, I dont know what to write...but theres so many things running through my mind about this year. So I'm just going to write down random thoughts/things I want to say in point form because...I dont know I just feel like letting some things out here:

- My family, I'm always grateful for you three. <3

- Met interesting and new people. Particularly the mates at uni, you're all sick kunts.

- I believe in God, but not in the way most people do I guess.

- Even though we barely talk nowadays...you're still a mad mate and pretty much the person I can talk about anything with.

- My old mates, especially the close ones..you guys are family.

- I <3 Hawaii

- The sound of the violin has added new dimension to jam sessions.

- This person, the epitome of Evil..I really want to hurt. But I'm waiting for 'it' to make its move.

- Your bloody awesome (sn). No lie. <3

- This year has been a stand out year, maybe because I've been put in situations where I was forced to compromise things I (strongly) believe in. Especially when I'd usually be in the opposite end of the situation.

- Bro, the people in the States have no clue with whats gonna hit them.

- Bloody Facebook, kills precious hours.

- Fahhh you got married! GG! Cya in every blue moon.

- You're freedom is almost here, and your travelling back to HI straight after its settled. Good on ya...you deserve it.

- You're taken, even better ;)

- A love for filming has emerged.

- The truth is out there.

- A certain shade of..Green :)

- The kid in that "young student v.s. lecturer" video/chain mail was NOT Albert Einstein.

- I could barely handle staying in the hospital overnight, imagine a week or more.

Hmmmm......this will be random.

Well its almost been a year since I started this blog aye.

Winter is almost coming to an end, thank god fahh. Its probably been the worse f*cking winter no lie. But at the same time this year is going by pretty fast...actually its going by too fast. Maybe thats a good thing, get this year over and done with?!? Argh

Funny, my new years resolution this year was to stay out of peoples problems..and man did that FAIL. BADLY. F*CK! I've written in an earlier blog that winter is always full of shit because of the bullshit that happens in that season. But usually it'd be MY problem, and this year I sorta got caught in the crossfire of other peoples wars...dozens of em. And as stated in that blog you learn and move on. Cliche thing to say yeah? Well f*ck you. That cliche enough for you?

Anyway, every year I tend to make enemies, lose mates, etc...then comes summer. That blissfull season, you just forget all of that. But......what about for THIS summer to come? Winter has been problematic yet different, (THEY PUT COLD THINGS IN MY BUTT! BUTT BUTT!) will summer be different too? Hawaii should be good though.

But yes, ALOT has changed. *puts Keanes song on* but I cant complain, every tragedy leads to something good. No matter how bad it is, just gotta change your perspective on these things. Fucking hard though....(i still procrastinate hardout though, hence this blog)

There he is.

Riding it all away.
With a little piece of sh*t behind him.

But he keeps running. Riding it off.
Apparently he must face the twisted logic of reality.
We all do.

But something happened.
It only lasted awhile...but it was, something of a defining moment for him.

Riding towards an arrow telling him to go back where he belongs,
he was compelled to disobey.

As he kept moving towards that direction,
gravity had suddenly become fiction.
And everything else that was impossible. Became possible.

Ironically the tool he uses to run from reality is the same thing that keeps him
in that reality.
So he used anti-gravity to his advantage and lifted off from his skateboard.

And in that moment, he was flying.
He didn't feel real. Which was good.
And everything blissful followed him.
Logic was twisted...in a different way.
It felt too good.

Suddenly,
bullets came flying out from that very direction he was heading towards.
He tried his best to dodge them.
But it was too much. He was hit.

And that's when reality caught up to him.
Bit him in the ass too.

He survived the bullets.

But he was still wondering why the bullets came out from that direction.
And the answer was easy.
He was never meant to be there.

All he could do was let it go...as good as it was, it wasn't his territory.

Philophobia: the fear of falling in love.

This is an old assignment about phobias. We all had to pick a phobia and make an artwork relating to what we chose in any form we want and I did this (with abbies help:D).

And incase you don't know what it is (because of the really bad photos lol) its a person drowning in lava. And the lava represents love.

I got this concept from a line of the song 'Quicksand' by Incubus: "some people fall in love and touch the sky. Some people fall in love and find quicksand".

First time acrylic & canvas user

My first time to ever use acrylic and canvas as an art medium. WHY OH WHY DIDNT I DO THIS BEFORE?! I've only used pen, pencil and paper...and occasionally gouache paint. I've never really taken what mediums to use seriously and now I realise how stupid I was to just pass thatt by. Ahh well we all gotta start somewhere right?

I created these as a gift for a mate since she loves disney so much.

During her party (which was disney themed) I got some of the mates to pose and then I played around with the photos in photoshop. Most of the backgrounds I used were from Deviantart but I've added changes and atmosphere to them while others are original backgrounds taken by me. I mentioned before that I really wanted to work on that fantasy feel with people and also add backgrounds to them, so the disney theme was perfect.
Yeah I know, I put the pieces together very messilly but its 4am right now and I need some sleep lol.

So imagine life as an art book. And in this book we all have our personal pages. We can do whatever we want with our page; write, draw, paint etc etc.. so this book is always a work in progress, probably never-ending, who knows?

Imagine growing old and looking at other peoples pages. Some wonderfully crafted, others messed up, one is a work in progress and the other is finished. And then you look at yours...and you see nothing but blackness. Nothing to show. What the hell did you do with your life? And then you start to fade slowly...but its too late to make a change.

What if someone owned that art book and saw your page and ripped you straight out? The owner could be some form of alien species, God or some kind of powerful entity I don't know but either way you've achieved nothing.

You were given this talent called 'living' yet you've already accepted death. Why? Well...we all have our excuses.

This concept came up during a time I let something get to me. A huge obstacle I had to face and overcome. I let it get to me before, but time has passed and I've learned and have gotten stronger.

But during that time I was facing depression (emo HAHA) and ultimate laziness. When I started realizing what I was doing to myself, the fear of messing up my life because of something stupid got to me.

Life is real, as long as your alive you'll have to face it. Problems are so little compared to life itself and with what we can achieve with it.

Laziness, excuses and stupidity will be the death of us.

This is the last of the K.O.C. stuff being posted.
Before this I've always been manipulating photos of idividuals, so I decided to try manipulating a group. Next step is to use proper background.

One night a few mates came over and we were bored as. So what do we do? Do a bunch of stupid poses in front of the camera out of sheer boredom. Sounds really stupid and even gay huh?
At one point we did individual 'action' poses but as you can tell two of them ended up looking really stupid lol but hey, it was funny.

I wanted to make a poster of some sort using the photos we took and this is what came out. It was the first time I manipulated photos to (try and) give it a fantasy/sci-fi-esque look.

'Knights of Cydonia' is a song by Muse. I was obsessed wit that song at the time.

This was done after the 'Knights of Cydonia' poster thing.

I really wanted to work on making reality look fantasy-ish, so I got another mate to pose with a weapon of some sort. We didn't have any so we used Christmas wrapping lol.

So after this was done this character was inducted to the brotherhood of knights. haha welcome brother..
